GEMS started to service & repair the generators and off-grid power solutions of farms and homes on Dartmoor and the surrounding areas. The company soon grew; offering marine services and repairs and finding a permanent home on Teignmouth’s New Quay. From this location, GEMS were able to offer a wide range of marine, commercial and domestic services all over the South West, the rest of the UK and beyond. 

Our experienced engineers provide servicing, maintenance and repairs for all types of generators and engines to commercial and domestic customers alike, either onsite or from our quayside workshop. GEMS offer full and partial servicing, general maintenance, repairs and fault finding, replacement alternators, custom build controls, Start-O-Matic conversations and generator & AVR installation.

We specialise in quality repair and maintenance work to keep your equipment operating for longer but if you find the time has come for a replacement, we can help. Ranging from supply of new equipment and parts, we also offer used and refurbished, as well as custom installation.

Situated on the New Quay near Teignmouth Port, we are in a prime location to help any vessel with repairs and maintenance. All works for inboard diesel engines including servicing, repairs, overhauls and winterisation are undertaken by our specialist marine engineers. We can also offer new transmissions, welding and bespoke fabrication, marine electrical repairs, fuel line cleaning & diesel bug treatment. We are also able to carry out under the waterline repairs, utilising the quay and working when the tide is low to carry out welding and hull repairs, propeller removal and rudder maintenance. 

We are happy to provide technical assistance over the phone to new and existing customers alike (fees may apply for new customers). Our small team of engineers can react quickly; diagnosing issues and suggesting fixes. If in-person repairs are required, our experienced engineers can advise, providing quotations, assistance on site, or repairs at our workshop with quick turnaround times. We also offer an hour of hours emergency call out service.
